Log into VA.gov (My VA), open a new tab in the same browser, and enter VA API URLs. Review the returned data, which may appear in JSON format and contain claim and disability details.
Access Claims
Easily access additional VA claim, appeal, and disability data by following these steps. This process uses the VA API that powers the My VA system and may reveal more detailed information about your claims.
Step One
Log Into VA.gov
Sign into your account at va.gov/my-va/. You must remain logged in for the system to return your personal claim and disability data.
Step Two
Open a New Browser Tab
In the same browser session, open a new tab. This keeps your VA login active while accessing API endpoints.
Step Three
Enter a VA API URL
Paste a VA API endpoint into the address bar to retrieve your data. The results will appear in JSON format and may include claim details, estimated dates, and disability information.
Step Four
Review Your Data
Review the returned data for key details such as claim status, estimated completion dates, diagnostic codes, and whether conditions are marked as static.
